The number of tenosynovitis sufferers are increasing worldwide. Many think that it is a woman’s illness caused by overwork. But if you stop using your fingers, thinking that it will comfort your hands and fingers, then think again. Doing so may even worsen the condition and may make it completely stiff.

Our recent study showed that menopause and pregnancy may have something to do with tenosynovitis.

Usually, tenosynovitis starts to appear from the age of 20s to 30s. The vast majority of sufferers are females. Symptoms may appear at menopausal stage, which is about the age of 50s. Therefore, tenosynovitis is believed to be caused by hormonal imbalance.
